Our company has been deploying various latest technologies and digital solutions that can enhance the overall development of the nation beyond its connectivity services, aiming to digitize, accelerate, and empower individuals’ day-to-day activities and businesses’ operations.
As part of these initiatives, our company has installed different technologies and digital solutions that can modernize the Ministry of Labor and Skills’ operations and systems as well as enhance overseas workers legal agencies to easily settle new trade license and related service payments via telebirr, provide tailored roaming services to overseas workers using local SIM cards and avail package bonuses for remittance transfers made by telebirr which is easy, fast, convenient and secured digital payment platform.
Prior to the signing of this memorandum of understanding, Ethio telecom and the Ministry of Labor and Skills’ higher managements jointly made a strategic agreement and accomplished a number of projects such as modernizing the data center of the Ministry, connecting the branches with high bandwidth and the establishment of contact center is undergoing. Furthermore, as an extension of the aforementioned joint efforts, the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding today to further strengthen the partnership in deploying different technological and digital solutions and to encourage entrepreneurship through provisioning of training and various supports aimed at ensuring economic opportunities of Citizens.
In the years ahead, our company will strengthen its commitment to providing various technological and digital solutions to the Ministry’s office. This includes supporting the development of creative ideas by procuring and utilizing products made by young entrepreneurs. Additionally, we will facilitate and encourage entrepreneurship and investment by providing technology support for training and capacity-building activities to both local and overseas citizens, as well as supporting programs that can enhance the overall economic opportunities of society through similar initiatives as part of our corporate social responsibilities.
