Merchant means a person or an entity engaged in the trade of goods and/or services and possesses an electronic account.

  • telebirr registered customers can pay for goods and services purchased via USSD or APP

  • PROXIMITY PAYMENTS

    • Can be referred as in-store payments, in-location payments
    • Payment will be conducted by a customer physically at the point of sale using telebirr.
    • Can be carried out using mobile phones and POS devices Via POS terminal, QR code, or transfer to merchant/organization short code.
    • Work when both the payer and payee are present in the same location.
    • Facilitation fee is free
